David and his wife, Shannon, met at Colonial and were married in 1997. They are blessed with one son, Jacob, who is a very active & inquisitive 4 year old. David accepted Christ while attending North Carolina State University—on the front porch of his fraternity house. After many years of putting his trust in his own abilities, he realized that without Christ in his life he was spiritually empty. After trusting in Christ, he began attending Colonial Baptist Church. During his time at Colonial he has been involved in several ministry areas. After Shannon and he were married, they attended the Couples Under Construction Class for young married couples. Then they felt Christ calling them to serve with the youth. They assisted teaching the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Sunday school class. During this time David helped to start the Upward Basketball League, participated with both Men’s Softball, Flag-Football and Basketball Leagues, and assisted with the Children’s Flag Football league. David and Shannon are currently attending the New Life ABF class, assist with Divorce Care for Kids, serve as marriage mentors, and substitute occasionally for the children’s nursery. |
